Converting Scanned Books and Publications files to Kindle file format

We have received calls from numerous author and publishers who have scanned their book and then used different vendors to perform the OCR on their file and eventually the "converted" file is a formatting nightmare when they tried to convert it to other format.

This is a case for many old cookbooks which are having trouble in OCR due to their measurements in integers (like add 1 1/8 cup) and other formatting of tables. We have converted many old cookbooks where publishers have combined their favorite content from 3-4 books into in one book.

Many of our clients ask us to first convert the file in MS word which allows them to make their own changes in the file (add new photos, acknowledgement, few edits etc) after they make the changes, they send us the file for converting it to Kindle format. This process allows the author/publisher to convert the MS word file into PDF and sell it as eBook through different vendors.

We have converted many old books for different authors and publishers by conducting OCR (Optical Character Recognition) on the scanned files sent to us by the author/publisher and converting it into Kindle or MS Word format.

Our Conversion Process is as follows:

• Email us the scanned PDF file. If the file size is too big, we can download it from your website or we will give you our FTP address so that you can upload it there.


• After reviewing the file, we will inform you on total conversion cost to the file format (MS Word or Kindle) you need. We will also provide you details on the time required for conversion and conversion restrictions if any based on your output conversion format.


• After the payment is received, OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is performed on the converted book.


• The book is converted into the Kindle format and quality check is then performed.


• Client is emailed the login ID and password for previewing the book on Kindle to review the file for any changes.


• If there are corrections required, client has to send us the complete list of changes in one email. We will make the changes needed (as per Kindle conversion standards) until you see the final output to your satisfaction.


• After the final preview, we will send the file to you, which you can than upload it in your kindle account.


• After you publish the file in Kindle, your book is available for sale on Kindle within 72 hours.

We convert the books only for authors, publishers or anybody who has the copyright of the books. If the book is no longer copyright protected, then please provide us the details on it.
